The first single core phase-shifting transformer in China has been successfully put into operation
Recently, the first domestically developed single core phase-shifting transformer with completely independent intellectual property rights, developed by Baobian Electric, was officially put into operation at the 110 kV Koucun Substation in Zhengding, Hebei. The transformer runs smoothly, providing strong support for balancing regional power grid load flow and improving the capacity of new energy generation and consumption.
This set of phase-shifting transformers consists of a 110 kV single core phase-shifting transformer and a 35 kV single core phase-shifting transformer. It passed the on-site acceptance of State Grid Hebei Province Company on December 26, 2024. This set of phase-shifting transformers adopts a brand new topology structure, which solves the problems of power flow reversal, voltage exceeding limits, and increased line losses caused by the high proportion of distributed photovoltaic access in the power grid, achieving mutual assistance between surplus and deficiency, and improving the scale of local consumption of new energy.
The 110 kV Koucun Substation is located in the distributed photovoltaic high proportion access demonstration zone of Zhengding County, connecting about 1750 distributed photovoltaic users with a capacity of nearly 80 megawatts. Due to the low level of electricity load and insufficient capacity for new energy consumption in the region, there is an imbalance in the load of power facilities, resulting in a reverse distribution of new energy generation and electricity load. After the installation and operation of 110 kV and 35 kV single core phase-shifting transformers, it can greatly alleviate the power supply pressure of the load center, effectively solve the problems of overloading of regional power equipment and reverse flow of power grid, and further optimize the regional power grid structure to achieve economic transmission and utilization of electricity.
