China's first offshore wind power autonomous detection platform officially put into operation

On January 11, 2025, China's first offshore wind power autonomous detection platform was officially put into operation at the Shanghuan Port wind farm in Rudong, Jiangsu. The platform is like the "pioneer" and "intelligent doctor" of offshore wind power, adopting unmanned offshore operation mode, marking a major breakthrough in China's offshore wind power equipment operation and maintenance capabilities.

The offshore wind power comprehensive testing platform put into operation by Longyuan Power, a national energy group, utilizes a combination of unmanned ships and robots to achieve remote control of unmanned operations. The maximum daily detection range has been increased to 100 kilometers, greatly improving the efficiency and accuracy of submarine cable testing.

During operation, the unmanned ship arrives at the designated sea area according to the set program, and the robot automatically launches into the water to conduct fault inspection and detection. By collecting submarine cable signals and sending the entire submarine cable path "map" to the unmanned ship, it guides the unmanned ship to navigate automatically. In this way, the detector is like an intelligent "vehicle" with its own power, with a detection path closer to the submarine cable. The fault location time is significantly reduced by 90%, and the detection accuracy is also improved by 10 times, providing strong support for the future expansion of China's offshore wind power to deep and distant seas.
