The hydropower station is located in Shimian County, Ya'an City, Sichuan Province, and is the 17th level power station in the 28 level development plan of the Dadu River hydropower project. The total installed capacity of the power station is 300000 kilowatts, and it is equipped with four of the world's largest single unit 75000 kilowatt bulb through flow water turbine generators. This type of unit adopts horizontal installation, which is different from the general vertical installation of generators that rely on water flow drop to generate electricity. It is mainly used in low head rivers and waterways, effectively improving water energy utilization efficiency.
