China Power Construction Group signs contract for Southeast Asia's largest photovoltaic project
China Power Construction Group and Meralco have officially signed an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contract for the Terra 1050 MW solar project in Manila, the capital of the Philippines. The project is part of the first phase of the Terra solar project, the largest photovoltaic project in Southeast Asia.
This signing marks a new breakthrough for China Power Construction in its sustainable development work in the international renewable energy market. Both executives attended the ceremony. In his speech, Chen Guanfu, Chairman of China Power Construction International, praised Meralco's long-term trust and strong support for China Power Construction, as well as becoming one of its most important partners. He emphasized that this signing marks a new milestone in the cooperation between the two companies. Meralco Chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan congratulated both parties on the signing of the contract and praised POWERCHINA's project execution capabilities and brand influence. Pangilinan stated that the new contract represents an important step in expanding the cooperation between the two companies into new areas. The project is located in the province of Nueva Ecija, with a designed total installed capacity of 3.5 gigawatts of solar energy and 4.5 gigawatt hours of energy storage. China Power Construction Corporation will be responsible for the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of photovoltaic power stations. After completion, it will directly reduce over 1.23 million tons of carbon emissions annually, making a significant contribution to the global response to climate change.
