Ningxia's' Green Electricity Town 'Plan Debuts at the United Nations Climate Change Conference
On November 18th, the "Green Electricity Town" proposal submitted by State Grid Ningxia Yinchuan Power Supply Company was included in the "Excellent Solutions for Accelerating Action and Increasing Contributions to Energy Green and Low Carbon Transformation" case collection, and was released at the 29th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29), the 29th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
It is reported that the conference was held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, from November 11th to 22nd. Representatives from about 200 countries that are parties to the Convention and climate experts from all walks of life gathered in Azerbaijan to promote joint efforts by countries around the world to address the challenges of climate change and build a greener, low-carbon, and sustainable future. The report "Accelerating Action, Increasing Contribution: Excellent Solutions to Support Energy Green and Low Carbon Transformation" includes six excellent solutions from the State Grid system to promote energy green and low-carbon transformation. It promotes energy substitution and energy conservation and carbon reduction from both the supply and consumption sides of energy, covering scenarios such as the construction of zero carbon industrial parks, low-carbon transformation of small and medium-sized industrial parks, island power supply, green energy supporting rural revitalization, greening of public sector vehicles, and construction of eco-friendly power grids.
The "Green Electricity Town" depicts a new idea for rural revitalization "introduces that State Grid Yinchuan Power Supply Company has taken Minning Town as a pilot and developed a more scientific approach through accurate intelligent optimal allocation; Well used - real-time dynamic balancing, more fully utilized; Stable supply - fearless of external failures, more reliable supply; Clear identification - With a serious focus on physical traceability and greater value, we aim to build this town into a "green electricity town" that provides 100% 24-hour green electricity supply. We will explore a new path of high-quality utilization of new energy, full value release, and green leadership for rural revitalization. We will use green energy to promote rural revitalization and the coordinated promotion of the "dual carbon" goal, providing reference for solving similar problems in other regions. After carefully reading this report, He Jijiang, Executive Deputy Director of the Energy Transition Research Center at the School of Social Sciences, Tsinghua University, pointed out that the power grid system plays a key role in the "dual carbon" target process, and power grid enterprises have always been at the forefront of promoting the development of renewable energy. Many cases included in the report have improved the consumption capacity of non renewable energy through electrification and the construction of new power systems, effectively enhancing the flexibility of the power system.
