On the evening of November 19th, Penghui Energy announced that the company plans to invest in the construction of a 10GWh energy storage battery cell and energy storage system manufacturing factory, as well as an independent shared energy storage research and development base project in Guangde City, Anhui Province, with a total planned investment of 5 billion yuan.
Penghui Energy stated that the project is aimed at further optimizing the company's production capacity layout, enhancing the company's business influence and comprehensive competitiveness, and meeting the needs of future business development and market expansion. The project will be constructed in two phases. The first phase is planned to be completed and put into operation in September 2025, and the second phase will be implemented according to the investment plan. The company will register a wholly-owned subsidiary or holding company in Guangde City as the implementing entity.
Since the second half of this year, Penghui Energy has announced multiple expansions of production.
On July 21, Penghui Energy announced that it planned to build 10GWh annual energy storage cell and system integration project and 1GWh annual semi-solid battery project in Chahar High tech Development Zone, Ulanqab City, of which the former's fixed assets investment was about 1.8 billion yuan and the latter's fixed assets investment was about 500 million yuan. The energy storage project is scheduled to start construction in September 2024 and be put into operation in October 2025; The semi-solid state battery project is scheduled to start construction in May 2025 and be put into operation in July 2026.
On October 16th, Penghui Energy announced again that it plans to build a new project in Zhengyang County, Zhumadian City, with a daily output of 30000 small power square aluminum shell lithium-ion batteries and 500000 capacitive lithium-ion batteries, with a total planned investment of 1 billion yuan.
At present, Penghui Energy's main products include energy storage batteries, consumer batteries, and power batteries. According to the 2024 interim report, the company's lithium-ion battery production in the first half of the year was 2.01 billion ampere hours, with an annual capacity of 6.874 billion ampere hours. The under construction capacity was 465 million, and the capacity utilization rate was 58.48%.
