China Energy's Tianjin Power & NE Inst win 5.1B yuan Shandong cogeneration plant bid

On April 18th, China Energy Engineering Northeast Institute and Tianjin Electric Power Construction formed a consortium to win the EPC general contracting project of Weihai Thermal Power 2 × 660000 kW cogeneration project, with a bid amount of about 5.118 billion yuan. The project is a key project in Shandong Province to implement the "dual carbon" goal and build a new power system.

The project is located in the east of Lanshan Town, Lingang Economic and Technological Development Zone, Weihai City, Shandong Province. It will build 2 × 660000 kW ultra supercritical coal-fired power generation units and simultaneously construct efficient dust removal, flue gas desulfurization, and denitrification devices. The project adopts ultra supercritical units with high thermal efficiency, low coal consumption, and advanced environmental protection facilities, which can significantly improve energy utilization efficiency, reduce carbon emissions, meet the national "dual carbon" target requirements, and help improve environmental air quality.

As a demonstration project of clean and efficient coal-fired power generation in Shandong Province, after the project is put into operation, it will increase the power supply of Shandong power grid, meet the demand of the province's load growth, optimize the local energy structure, promote green and low-carbon development, and have a positive significance in improving the regional energy security capacity and vigorously enhancing the guarantee capacity of local residential heating and industrial steam supply.
